The end of the textbook

The end of the textbook

As my learning continues I am reading articles about the use of technology in the classroom. I understand that technology is being used in the workplace everywhere so that work load is decreased and information is close at hand. Examples would be in the Drs office now all medical records are kept on line the Dr has access while the patient is in the office… at the point of care it is called. So in educational institutes now it is predicted that the textbook would or could be replaced with e books/readers? Easier to carry, cheaper… but what will it do to our libraries… will they all be on-line now? Many are I am learning.

I also understand how technology could help with children with learning disabilities or with physical disabilities such as visual aids or helping children with autism.

Maybe textbooks are on the way out?
